Boulder County, Colorado New Latex Paint Recycling and Reuse Brochure

The Boulder County, Colorado Hazardous Materials Management Facility (HMMF) collects latex paint free of charge for Boulder County, City and County of Broomfield, and Town of Erie residents. Businesses are charged a small fee to dispose of their paint properly.

Recycling: Boulder County recycles latex paint through GreenSheen Paint, a Denver area paint recycler. GreenSheen inspects each can for quality control, consolidates then mixes the paints by like products and color. To finish, the paint is re-packaged and made available to consumers at a low cost rate. The empty metal and plastic containers are dried out and recycled.

In 2013, the HMMF recycled over 157,000 pounds of latex paint through GreenSheen. Through the HMMF’s diversion initiatives, several thousands of gallons of paint have a second opportunity for use in our community.
